Maffew Ragazino grew up in Brownsville, Brooklyn. A residential area located in eastern Brooklyn, New York City.He discovered music when he was 7 and began rapping. He was inspired by acts like Big Daddy Kane, Notorious B.I.G., Brand Nubian, A Tribe Called Quest, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Slick Rick, KRS-One, and many more. Over the years he pushed himself to perfect his craft.
The hungry up and comer got his big break when Bad Boy’s Red Café recruited him for his 2007 album The Co-Op and Maffew was featured on two standout cuts (“Invincible,” “Section 8”) showcasing his own brand of street hop.
In 2009 , Maffew appeared on Sean Price's highly anticipated mixtape. Kimbo Price: The Prelude To Mic Tyson (“Weed & Hoes”).
So far, he has worked with a who who’s of New York artists like: Sauce Money(“The Borough”), Troy Ave (“The Borough,” “Box Office Smash”), Torae (“The Borough”), Eddie B (“Born To Win”), Shabaam Sahdeeq (“Born To Win”), Harry Fraud (“Born To Win”) , DJ Absolut (The Plaza Hotel”), Murda Mook (The Plaza Hotel”), Ransom (The Plaza Hotel”), Inspectah Deck (The Plaza Hotel”), Emiloio Rojas, Black Dave, Kirk Knight, Action Bronson (“Avatar,” “Jordan vs. Bird,” “Jerk Chicken,” and “The Main Event”), Skyzoo, Sean Price (“Land of the Crooks,” “Weed & Hoes”), Billy Danze (M.O.P.), DJ Babu, Reek Da Villian, Avon Blocksdale (BSB), Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, SRH, Spaz One, etc.
Since 2010, Maffew Ragazine has released several well-received projects (2010’s Where I’m From, 2011’s Rhyme Pays, Rare Gems, 2014’s Bronsville Jesus, and 2015’s 8 Million Stories).
